Robert`s response shows that he prefers rational persuasion to using legitimate power, as he wants to be considered as a leader who focuses on the other party`s needs. His political skills are based on honesty and networking as this really provides a possibility to build a trust-based relationship. Robert`s style of negotiation is similar to what is used in mediation. Again, he prefers honesty, which is expected lets both parties benefit from the negotiation. However, too early revealing of cards might let the other party manipulate Robert.
