The genre of preference is tied to the personality of the person
Procedure
The interview will take place in a hotel hall, and the interviewee will arrive in the perception that the interview is bound to land them a management role with a big dancing group. Immediately the interviewee arrives, they will be guided to the interview room where other respondents are expected to meet them. No one is supposed to meet them as they come into the hall. Music will be playing in the background, but the respondents will be under observation via the room cameras and their association behaviours with each other are recorded.
After 30 minutes, the researcher will walk into the room and give an introductory talk to introduce the people to the interview. After the introduction, the interviewees will be provided with a questionnaire that has a consent form attached. After completing the questionnaire, the respondents will be given the debriefing form and then a debriefing speech before they are dismissed.
Introductory speech
Good morning everyone. All of you are invited here to take an interview with the successful candidate having the chance to work with the management of one of the local dancing groups as a manager.
Please sign the consent form that is attached to your questionnaire form before commencing with the interview. It is important that you answer the questionnaire truthfully to the best of your knowledge. It is also important for you to understand that on the last page of the questionnaire, you have to provide any additional information that you feel gives you an advantage over the others that could get you hired.
We will have another talk after the interview as a group. For now, please come and pick a form so that we can start.

Debriefing Speech
Thank you all for participation in this interview. This was not an orthodox interview but rather a double-edged interview. The winner still stands a chance to join the management group for the dancing group. The winner will be contacted in one month so he or she can start training for the job.
What you were not told is that this interview also was aimed at helping in a study to test the relationship between personality and the music genre preference of the various individuals. The reason you were not told about the other aim of the interview was to protect you from answering questions based on what you think should be the answers.

Debriefing form
Thank you for taking part in this interview. This interview was not an orthodox recruitment interview but also the answers you provided during the interview and your personal traits will be used in a research study that seeks to understand the relationship between a person’s personality and the music genre preference for the individual.
We used the dancing group manager recruitment to ensure that the people who are interviewed for the study have an affinity with music. In this study, you were asked to state your genre of music and a few other questions regarding your personality. The results of this study will be used to determine if there is a link between a person's personality and the genre of music they prefer.
