Politics is the act of wooing people to receive support in a certain agenda. Politics can be conducted internally within a country in the selection of leaders and internationally where a certain issue has to be implemented for the common good of the world. The people or countries in politics have a duty to convince the other parties to make a certain decisions, failure to which the party loses. This paper evaluates internal and international political Issues in the world, as well as issues that affect such politics. The research questions to guide this research are listed below;

People engage in politics for several reasons. Many aim at getting leadership positions so that they can engage in decision making process in their countries. To achieve this, they have to convince people to vote for them. In offices, people seek power so that they can have control over the resources and make important decisions. Politics in organizations also aim at ensuring that the rights of the employees in the organization are protected. For many years, bad politics have made employers assume that women employees perform poorly in certain careers and this is why they fail to receive promotions. This is the reason why some of them have quit engineering careers. This is an example of bad politics that lead to wrong decisions leading to adverse effects on organizations.
In the international politics, countries come together and decide on matters of common importance. An example of such decisions includes the global warming and globalization. These issues affect many countries and this is why these countries should come together and vote on the way forward. It helps eliminate bad acts by certain countries. Before such decisions are made, the opinion of the local citizens may be sought. An example is the use of renewable sources in US, which may be a decision influenced by the international politics but the local politics influence the final decisions.
In countries like Russia, the citizens were involved in making the decision on whether Russia should continue occupying Ukraine. The involvement of the citizens shows that politics are influenced by the decisions of majority people in a country.
Politics are influenced by religion of the citizens in a country. Islamic religion influences the decisions in countries such as the dressing code in schools. In some countries, the religion is after ensuring that Islamic law is enforced. At the same time, other religions struggle to take part in politics in a country. This means that religions play a role in influencing the direction of politics in their countries. People choose leaders who are to allow ideals that support their religious beliefs.
Education also influences politics in a country. Learned citizens influence the direction of politics by properly evaluating the ideas that the potential leaders support. These people also fund and organize campaigns supporting these leaders. This is as long as democracy is present in their countries. In sub-Saharan African countries, democracy is new and this is why people are keen to influence the direction of politics by exercising their democratic rights.
The current trends in politics relate to the use of technology to campaign for electoral seats. The presences of internet have provided a platform of reaching many people within a short time without the need of being physically present. The use of social media and blogs provides a forum where people can interact and convince the citizens to vote for them. This trend was observed in the United States politics where president Obama campaigned using social media ad managed to reach many youths who frequently use the internet. This is proving to be a good method of engaging in politics since the many people who are online get information from their leaders.
Media is another trend in politics and it is known that media has an impact on politics while politics on the other hand influence the activities of the social media. Media such as television bring leaders together and give them a chance to debate, proving to the citizens that they are capable. The media also give more information about the leaders and this enables the people make informed decisions. When leaders are in office, the media highlights what these leaders are doing and this keeps the public informed. Media is thus important in helping the citizens decide whether certain leaders are good or not.
In conclusion, politics plays a great role in the lives of citizens. It takes place in international forums to make international decisions as well as at national level where local people have to make decisions. Democracy has allowed people to effectively get involved in political activities and make decisions that affect their lives. The way politics are conducted has been changing and new issues can be witnessed in politics. Various factors that influence politics have been highlighted in the study and they include education and religion of the citizens. The role of new technologies such as internet has increased and leaders can easily engage in politics using the internet. The role of media has also changed the direction of politics because it now plays the role of enlightening the society to ensure that they make proper decisions when selecting their leaders or when making decisions that affect their lives.
