The paper is well written and clearly provides evidence that support the writers claim. The writer has captured what he/she aimed at: the paintings history, formal elements, role of the woman in the painting, and the relationship between the figures: male and female. The paper shows that the writer made an effort to conduct an in depth research into the topic. The fourth paragraph provides the strongest argument with regards to the topic of the paper. You may notice that the third and fourth paragraphs have been interchanged.
For the purposes of clarity, a few sentences have deleted and the following sentences in bold have been added in the introduction: “Feminists have had a field day with this portrait as it highlights the disposition and discrimination of women throughout art history. ” and “art at that time in history”
The paper has well-written in-text citations except the website citation. First, the writer need to get the right source for the information purported to be from the website. Having checked the website, i did not find coinciding the information.
These sentences in the conclusion are repetitive as have being used in the introductory paragraph: “This paper has discussed how Delacroix’s Liberty on the Barricades does not depict the typical feminine image in art at this time. Explored through looking at the painting’s history, formal elements, the role of the woman in the painting, and the relationship between the figures, male and female.”
