Adversity and advantage is a story about a small country, which makes a remarkable difference by rebranding the Jewish state in living rooms of America as an innovative, ethical nation that works industriously and tirelessly to solve national and global problems.
The Israel inside is a savvy and smart documentary approach to public diplomacy as it does not advocate arguing, advocacy or convincing whatsoever. Politics has not been majorly discussed in the film. Rather, the documentary creates an emotional, inspiring perception that places Israel at a better level in terms of financial and technological advancement over the last 60 years.
Indeed, the film describes more about the nation, and it puts approachable and heroic view of Israel. The prime purpose of the documentary is to show how the people of Israel have transformed their nation against all the odds and developed the country in a very short time.
The documentary points out the societal values and aspects such as education, diversity, volunteerism and family as well as Israel's blossoming non-profit, technology and business sectors (James, p16). These values are universal themes that feature in the film and resonate with all the people from various backgrounds.
According to the film, the actual Israel's analysts say that the factors that boosted their nation to realize its maximum potential are chutzpa, the effort of repairing the world, education, resilience and family stability.
According to my real life experience, education, resilience, economic stability, peace and technology are among the key aspects that uplift the economy and stability of the nation. Another main secret of Israel's prosperity according to the film is the firm foundation of family structure in the nation that cultivates an interconnected community where every person has a role to care for one another like one family (James, p24). This unique behavior allows the young to grow up feeling confident and supported; as a result, they learn the virtue of resilience in the perception of adversity. Well known for their relatively great entrepreneurial skills, the Israelis have possessed this attitude since the early days of the state.
In real life situation, the aspect of developing entrepreneurial skills in the nation results to solid and prosperity in economic stability (James, p28). It is important to state that corporation among all the members of the society will lead to universal ideologies and hence advancement in both technology and the nation's economy.
The most remarkable factor fuelling the prosperity of Israel is its capability to analyze and find solutions to the burning challenges facing the country like living in a water-deprived desert. Indeed, living in a land with deficiency of water is a great challenge. However, according to the documentary, the people of Israel have devised several alternative means to deal with that menace. From my experience, the best approach of resolving a challenge is through critical evaluation of the issue.
Health care is relatively essential in every society. Health care in Israel according to the film is responded to promptly. There are a number of volunteer organizations such as Eli beer that responds to emergencies to save lives.
In conclusion, the Israelis initiated projects to give wheelchairs to the disable as a means of ensuring equality among its citizens. The film gives a clear perception of how real life is, everything described in the film is more or less related to the life in my environs.
