UAE presents Cleveland Clinic with a good business opportunity for its services. The evidence that people move from Abu Dhabi to New York for treatment clearly shows that there is a great need for quality health services in the region. Ideally, these present Cleveland Clinic with a good opportunity to extend its services to this region. There is ready market for health services in UAE and calls for Cleveland Clinic to take the initiative and exploit the underlying opportunity early in advance. My opinion is that, Cleveland should expand its services to UAE (Kotler 364).
UAE has a good environment for any company wishing to expand its business operation to the region. Economically, the region is stable following profits from the sale of petroleum products. Nevertheless, this is to imply that Cleveland clinic’s focus to expand its services to the region gives it an upper hand in enjoying a stable economy that is not common to many other parts of the world. Furthermore, Cleveland will be able to enjoy these benefits while the region will be able to enjoy health services to their peripheral.
Moreover, UEA is politically stable thus encouraging investors from all over the world to invest in the region. Cleveland Clinic will be able to enjoy such political stable environment. Politically stable environment gives businesses an outstanding opportunity to expand its services to the UEA. The region is also multicultural following various cultures that have come to the place due to carry out business investments. Ideally, this means that Cleveland Clinic will enjoy the cultural diversity of this region (Lamont 280).
However, in order to expand its services to UAE, Cleveland Clinic needs to understand the legal environment for the region. Legal environment will help the clinic to understand various business regulations it requires to observe in the region. For instance, the clinic will require understanding what requirements it should have in order to run its business in the region. This is very important since it will help the clinic to avoid penalties and fines as a result of failure to observe and obey the business law of the region.
Nevertheless, it will be good for Cleveland Clinic to understand the people of UAE. This is as it regards to their preferences with respect to their cultural demands. Understanding one’s culture is very important for any company since it helps the company plan according to the people needs and preference. In so doing, Cleveland Clinic will be able to understand what the people of the region prefer and thus being able to provide services with respect to this needs and preferences (Gillespie etal 312).
Finally, Cleveland Clinic needs to enhance community development of the region. Apart from offering its medical services the clinic needs also to get involved in various community developmental programs. An outstanding example is; sponsoring some students in the region to study medicine. The clinic also needs to provide jobs for the locals within its premises. If the clinic does this then the community around UAE will be very happy hence will be willing to cooperate with the clinic in offering its services in the region.
