Re: Character Reference for Alexandro Lorenzo Castro
I provide this character reference in full knowledge of Mr. Castros’s charge of misconduct involving weapons, as well as theft of means of transportation.
I have known Mr. Castro for the past <number of years> as his partner in life. We have two young daughters, Alexianna, who is only one month old; and Alexandria, who is currently one year of age. I am fully aware that in the span of time that we are together as partners, he has been a good father. As such, the charges imposed upon him were definitely uncharacteristic of him. It could easily be deduced that the actions wrought against other affected people and involving weapons were primarily due to problems with drugs.
Alex, as he is fondly called, have had a difficult childhood. He relayed that he had persistently been looking for the unconditional love and support of his parents; both of whom were revealed to have neglected supporting for his holistic needs. As such, he turned to the streets in the company of strangers and members of local gangs for the much needed attention. Accordingly, there was no adult figure who should have provided him with appropriate guidance during his developmental stages of growth. The values of a family life were therefore never nurtured and the feeling of always seeking for support led to his dependence on drugs.
People who truly know Alex would confirm how deeply loving and caring he is. As a partner, he would usually think first of my needs and those of his two young children. As a father, he is very supportive and would devote much of this time assisting me in taking care of the little girls and in ensuring that they are provided with warmth, genuine tender loving care, and planning for their future.
The only weakness of Alex was his inability to say no to his friends; who he thought, he owes a lot from. As such, when his friends would lure him to keep them company and to hang out for some fun, Alex finds it difficult and challenging to turn them down. It is within the midst of these endeavors that what initially was thought to be a harmless activity turned to an unfortunate event that he definitely regrets. He was never been involved in any serious criminal activities and never thought that such irresponsible actions would have created such drastic ramifications.
The addiction to drugs have evidently been contributory to a transformed character that was totally unbecoming of Alex. His greatest regret was having to be parted temporarily from his two young daughters, and from me, whom he has relayed he would truly miss. If only he could separate the personality he truly is when drugs are not in his system and do not get the best of him, his character could be described as embodying the true essence of a sincerely beloved father and partner in life. Likewise, by signing the plea agreement to serve five years in prison, I hope that the time spent as a retribution for the offenses made would be a time spent for corrective action to rehabilitate him. In addition, I hope that regular review of his behavior would be made in consideration of the two young daughters’ need for the physical presence of their father at the soonest possible time.
With these attestations, I affirm that I have provided factual information on Alex’s character to the best of my ability and without bias. If confirmation on any of the statements given are still needed, I could be reached at any of the following contact information: <your cellphone number> or <your email address>.
