Example Of Social, Economic And Political Issues Facing The Druze Essay

Druze is a small religious subset in the Middle East, characterized by eclectic system of doctrines, cohesion and loyalty among its members that has held them over the years. They are found in Lebanon, Syria and Israel. They do not permit conversation or intermarriage with other religions this has contributed to there being singles of older than 40years. It also determines their involvement in government affairs. Separation of families by war and cases of single parenthood causes economic difficulties. High number of singlehood due to closed marriages. Health problems in the Middle East due to consistent war and conflict affect their health, as there are no adequate health practitioners. Most of the Druze live in the rural areas, the effects of war has caused a retarded growth in agriculture and therefore they are economical unstable.
Their income is low leading to a lower class life though some are well up in the social order, particularly those living in urban areas, majority is in the rural and they have low incomes. This puts them in the lower social class. The Druze has a misrepresentation in the governments of the countries where they live. Their number in administrative position is small compared to their population. Political boundaries that divide the Druze into different countries have contributed into their oppression over the years. The Druze is in four countries; Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Jordan, this makes it difficult for them to air their grievances in unison. The Druze has been empowering themselves over the years to overcome these challenges. They have involved themselves in the military and are doing so well in education enrollment. They organize themselves to inspire the young leadership and they discuss critical issues as discussed above and seek solutions by creating a climate for change.
