I have dedicated a significant part of my life to the pursuit of knowledge and expertise in the field of nursing, and have every intention to continue doing so. I have always had great enthusiasm to understand the realm of medicine and hence wished to explore a career in this field. I have worked as a volunteer at various organizations including Respiratory Care Unit at Stony Brook University Medical Center, as well as a Donor Registration Assistant at New York Blood Center. While these experiences played a major role in developing my knowledge base, especially in medical administration, I longed to attain a role where I could personally interact with and assist patients.
My decision to pursue nursing became all the more concrete after working as a Home Health Aide at Cobble Hill Health Center for nearly two years. Here, I was able to assist patients with ailments such as dementia and autism to live healthier lives. My role required me to support patients at their home, enabling them to live a better quality of life. Needless to say, this was a highly fulfilling and enriching experience. During this time, I have gained further confidence that I have the skills and character required to become an efficient nurse.
My goal is to further develop career in the medical field, with a focus on becoming a proficient nurse. I believe that, being a part of an institution such as NYU will allow me to develop my skills and knowledge in a comprehensive manner, enabling me to adapt a holistic approach towards nursing. I am a very determined person and extremely committed to doing this course. I would like to utilize the medical knowledge, clinical research skills and management competencies that I can gain from your well respected program as a major corner stone in building my future as a nurse. Given the opportunity to pursue the program, I am confident that I will prove to be a positive influence and an active member of the New York University community.
