Despite the obvious statistics, restless debates on whether sex education should be obligatory in public schools flourish. Statistics of the Guttmacher Institute claims that the United States has “one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the developed world—almost twice as high as those of England, Wales and Canada, and eight times as high as those of the Netherlands and Japan.” According to the Guttmacher studies among 750,000 teen pregnancies that annually take place, over 82 percent are unintended, one-quarter of which result in abortions. To a large extent, abstinence-only sex ed stands out against the broad sex education course that the majority American parents want — from the ABC of how babies are conceived to how condoms are supposed to put on to how to get tested for STD. English Teaching Essay
It is barely this week that I learned about the importance of I.S.P. Nations’ four principles of vocabulary teaching. It emphasizes that each of the students have an opportunity to learn vocabulary across four strands rather than teaching the vocabulary itself. Sufficient time allocation for the study of each of the principles is necessary to enable the students’ acquaintance with the vocabulary knowledge from each strand and diversify in all language skills. This will help them to learn and explore vocabulary with “balanced range of learning opportunities” (Nunan 133). The I.S.P. Nation’s four principles of vocabulary teaching are meaning-focused input and output, language-focused learning and fluency development.

Since childhood, we have been taught that the American Dream is something that causes everyone from other countries in the world to move here. We have so much hype around us and sadly we don’t live up to it. Studies show that even though we are second in the industrialized nations, behind Switzerland, in amount spent for student we are ninth in terms of education. Why is this happening? What seems to be happening is lack of expectation in our students hence students are finding it hard to get motivated in school. With a country that thrives on innovation, you would think that there would have been a solution to this problem ages ago.

The teaching profession is one of the most challenging fields of human lives since it involves molding the behavior and character of different students from the diverse society. Because of the diversity of the students, tutors and lecturers encounter so many activities by students and all of these they are required to deal with them accordingly. An interesting part is that many students influenced by peer groups and the need to belong to a group always plan for various activities. However, there are those who know what they came to do in school and for them they concentrate on their studies and fail to recognize what is happening in their surrounding. Teachers and lecturer have ethical code of conduct and they will always act according to the acceptable rules and regulations when dealing with students cases. Choosing a teaching profession is thus one of the most tasking activity since one has to deal with students of diverse character and the society expects that by the time the students finishes the learning process, they should have been well molded and ready to take up roles in the society professionally.

A Community thrives and blossoms, if it has a good education system. The quality of education in any country is always dictated by, the expertise that implements the curriculum. A properly trained teacher should be able to understand the individual differences of his/her learners in order, to cater for each pupil’s special needs. Every class has got a variety of learners, who need special methods of instruction for them to understand.
