This article will examine factors affecting the mental and physical health of children when watching television, as well as available technical means to restrict children from watching TV in the absence of adults. Television is increasingly replacing the family communication, reading books, playing music home, my mother's lullaby, old wives' tales, interviews and conversations with his father. Before the invasion of television in our lives the most defenseless and dependent categories are very young children.
The Influence of Television on children. If adults or teenagers are quite capable of critically evaluate what they are asked to look at, and can change the channel if not turn off the TV, the kids look up everything. And they are not just watching television production, and absorb and assimilate it. TV influence (like all other influences addressed to the baby) form the heart and mind of a child, educate his tastes and views of the world. The inner world of children still in its infancy, and a significant role in shaping it plays everything that they get from adults - games, stories, joint exercises, including television programs.
TV shows that are watching our children - it's not just a way to break away, but the means of education. In relation to young children the principles of freedom of choice as freedom of speech, can not be the main landmarks. All that look and perceive that small children lays the foundation of their personality and outlook. And as good, specially created for kids TV shows are very few children with adults watching everything - advertising, Adventure, horror movies, soap operas, etc. At the moment when the first generation growing up " screen kids", these effects are becoming more apparent.

In recent years, parents and educators are increasingly complained of delays in speech development: children later begin to talk a little and bad talk, their speech is poor and primitive. But what does this TV? The child sitting at the screen constantly hears it. Is saturation audible speech is not conducive to language development? Does it matter who speaks with a child - or an adult cartoon character?
The difference is huge. It - it is not an imitation of someone else's words and not remembering clichés. Mastery of speech at an early age only occurs in vivo, direct communication when the baby is not only listening to the words of others, but also meets the other person when he is included in the dialogue. And included not only hearing and articulation, but all their actions, thoughts and feelings. For a child to speak, it is necessary that it has been included in its concrete practical actions, in his actual experience and, most importantly, in its interaction with adults. Speech sounds are not facing towards the child personally and do not involve a response, do not affect the baby, do not encourage him to take action and do not cause him any images. They are just " empty words." * Today's children are mostly too little use speech to communicate with close adults. They absorb much more television programs that do not require a reply from them, do not react to their relationship and that they themselves can not influence. Tired and silent parents replaces talkative TV. Therefore, children prefer to remain silent, and express themselves with shouts or gestures.
However, the external colloquial speech - just the tip of the iceberg that hides a huge block of inner speech. After all, it - it is not only a means of communication but also a means of thinking, imagination and mastery of his behavior; it means knowing their experiences, their behavior and self-awareness as a whole. In inner speech is accomplished not only thinking but also imagination and experience, and any representation - in short, everything that makes up the inner world of man, his spiritual life.
Remembering or dreaming about the future, experiencing loss or thrills, sharing or giving yourself an account of their actions, we always conduct an internal dialogue with yourself. It gives a dialogue with that inner form, which can hold any content and provides a person the stability and independence. If this form is not formed, if inner speech (and hence the inner life) no man is precarious and dependent on external influences. He's just not able to hold any content or strive for some purpose. As a result - the inner emptiness that must be constantly replenished from the outside. Clear signs of this lack of inner speech, we can observe many of today's children.
In recent years, educators and psychologists are more likely to mention the children 's inability to introspection, to concentrate on any occupation, lack of interest matter. These symptoms were summarized in a picture of a new disease - " deficit concentration." * This kind of disease is particularly pronounced in teaching children and is characterized by hyperactivity, situational behavior, increased distraction. These children do not linger on any classes, quickly switch to something else, frantically seeking to change impressions, however diverse experiences they perceive superficial and sketchy, not analyzing and communicating with each other. They need constant external stimulation, which they used to get from the screen.
Many children become difficult to perceive information at the hearing - they can not keep the previous phrase and link individual proposals. Audible speech does not cause them any images and sustainable experiences. For this reason, children with attention deficit hard to read: understanding individual words and short sentences, they can not hold and bind them, and as a result do not understand the text as a whole, they are just not interested, boring to read even the best children's books.
Another fact that many educators say - is a sharp decline in imagination and creativity of children. Children lose the ability and desire something to do. They make no effort to invent new games to compose stories, to create their own imaginary world. They are bored to draw, design, invent new stories. They did not care and does not carry. Lack own content reflected on the relationship of children. They are not interested in communicating with each other. Observed that communication with peers become more superficial and formal: the children have nothing to talk or argue, there is nothing to discuss. They prefer to press the TV and wait for the new ready entertainment.
But perhaps the most obvious evidence of the rise of inner emptiness - improving child cruelty and aggressiveness. The number of crimes committed by children and adolescents has increased dramatically today. Affects not only the cruelty and senselessness but, unmotivated children these "pranks". Of course, the boys have always fought, but in recent years has changed the quality of children's aggressiveness. Earlier, at showdown, the fight ended, as soon as the enemy found himself lying on the ground, ie, defeated. It was enough to feel like a winner. In our time, the winner will gladly beats lying down, losing all sense of proportion. Empathy, compassion, help the weak becoming rarer. Cruelty and violence become something ordinary and habitual erased sensation threshold of permissibility. Thus children do not realize in their actions and do not foresee their consequences. Teens beat (and sometimes kill) each other, not because they are evil or devious and not to achieve some goal, and "just because", because the soul is empty and you want to thrill.
And of course the scourge of our time - drugs. More Russian children and adolescents have experience of addiction, and that number is growing dramatically. Care drugs - clear evidence of inner emptiness, inability to find meaning and value in the real world or in himself. Lack of vital reference, internal instability and emptiness require its filling - a new artificial stimulation, new "pill of happiness."
Of course, not all children listed "symptoms" are observed in the full set. But trends in the psychology of today's children are quite obvious and natural cause alarm. Our task - not to scare the reader once again terrifying picture of modern moral decline of the younger generation, and understand the origins of these disturbing phenomena.
So really all the fault of the TV? Yes, if we are talking about a small child is not ready to perceive the inflowing information from the display. When the home screen absorbs all energy and attention toddler when the TV substitute for a small child playing, action and communication with close adults, he certainly has a powerful formative rather distorting influence on the formation of the psyche and personality of the growing person. The impact and extent of this influence can affect much later in the most unexpected areas.
Children's age - the most intensive formation of the inner world, constructing personality. Change or catch up in this period in the future is virtually impossible. At the age of early childhood and pre-school (6-7 years old) account for the origin and formation of the most common basic human abilities. The term " basic " is used here in the literal sense - this is what will be built on and keep the entire building personality. Change the foundation, when the building is constructed, it is impossible. If the foundation is shaky or curved, the building will be unstable and could collapse at any time. Accordingly, the period of earlier age of children, the more liable it is and the more further defines human development.
The foregoing does not mean to exclude the call of the television and computer life and parenting. Not at all. It's impossible and pointless. But in early childhood and pre-school when the inner life of the child only develops screen poses a serious danger to him. Computer games can be administered only after the child has mastered traditional children's activities - drawing, design, perception and writing stories. And most importantly - when he learns to play their own usual children's games (taking the role of adults, to invent imaginary situations, build the game's plot, etc.), as distinguished from the reality of the game. Viewing cartoons for young children should be strictly dosing. At the same time parents should help kids to comprehend the events occurring on the screen and to empathize with the heroes of films. Provide free access to information technology can be just outside of school age (after 6-7 years), when the children are ready for its intended use when the screen is just a means for them to obtain the required information, and not overbearing master over their souls and their primary caregiver.
In our time, it is impossible to fully protect the child from watching TV, but it is necessary to reduce its impact.
