Executive Summary – The report presents the situational analysis of the working condition at Faredeal Travel Agency and identifies the requirement of enhancing the communication between the management and employees along with recommendations on improving working conditions.
Introduction – Working conditions of the company are significant to improve the performance and efficiency of employees. Also, it introduces safety in the working environment. This report
Provides the recommendation to the company to improve the existing working conditions.
Procedure – Survey was done to collect the information regarding the present working condition and to gather the information regarding improvement required by employees. The information was interpreted in percentage to elicit better understanding.
Findings – The survey provided insights regarding the working conditions of the company and their opinion regarding it. First question was that does the employee feel the need of better facility and is their opinion sharing opportunities are enough to which 72 % of the employees clearly stated the inadequate facilities and expressed the need for better facilities. Moreover, the need expressed to get more opportunities to share their opinion indicated that employees feel their opinions are not addressed. To the question regarding the pay majority of the employees were satisfied with their pay package; however 38 % of the employees expressed dissatisfaction with pay, General Office and Accounts department being common in low pay package and dissatisfaction with work category on the question regarding the satisfaction from work. Sales staff also expressed their dissatisfaction with the pay package and huge amount of paperwork.
Conclusion – The communication needs to be improved between employees and management at Faredeal Travel Agency along with improvement of facilities to employees and the opportunity to share opinions.
Recommendations – To enhance the working condition, company needs to improve the facilities provided to its employees and also to provide forum for opinion sharing. A suggestion box can be kept at HR reception to invite the opinions of employees along with an informal meeting once in a month to hear suggestions of employees. Departments with less pay package or perks and monotonous job should be motivated to give innovative ideas to make their work interesting, rewarding the best innovative idea of the week or month with discount coupons or cash vouchers or any other perk. The company should also start job rotation of employees which involves them their shifting to other departments of the company to ensure their career development.
