Abstract
Higher education is guided by philosophical principles that administrators use to set curricula and establish policies that govern how institutions are run. The educational philosophy of pragmatic instrumentalism offers one such ideal, which proceeds from a belief that theory and practical application could and should be meshed in order to prepare students to impact their environment.
