The following examines Mexican American and African-American cultures and the ways that these two cultures interact the dominant white culture in the United States. While on the surface these two cultures might seem to have much in common (given that they are frequently discriminated against minorities in the United States), in point of fact they are very different in the ways that they assimilate into American culture.
