Introduction Advances in technology and the corresponding creation of digital technologies have significantly impacted the performing arts (Poole & Ho, 2011). Opera has not escaped the technological advancements and as such, new forms of opera have emerged in both digital and virtual formats (Symonds & Karantonis, 2013).
