Epidemiological studies have found that anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN) are more prevalent amongst female populations(Hart, Granillo, Jorm, & Paxton, 2011; Striegel‐Moore et al., 2009). A study found, that gender disparity is reversed when it comes to binge eating disorder (0.6% women vs. 1.9% men)(Striegel‐Moore et al., 2009).
