Introduction: In introducing the main assumptions and tenets of both psychoanalytic and cognitive-behavioral theory it is important to account for the underlying principles that each is built upon. In order to contrast and compare these basic principles and how they focus on the underlying changes that are evident in the clients there is a need to develop an effective method for considering the cases that are available.
